Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) & Climate Change Adaptation (CCA)

When disasters strike, both animals and humans are affected. This is a priority focus area for APaD as it helps design a systematic approach to identifying, assessing and reducing the risks of disaster. It aims to reduce socio-economic vulnerabilities to a disaster as well as dealing with the environmental and other hazards that trigger them. Turkana County being a Climate Change hot spot, this area of focus aims to reduce and mitigate the risk of displacement and increase the resilience of communities in the Karamoja cluster to cope with disasters.
